Starcaller, TOTC hardmodes, Decimation
by perhaps on Sep.04, 2009, under Uncategorized
Been quite busy lately. We left the 25 man raiding guild, and made our own little 10-man group.
The advantages are more flexibility with raid times, knowing that if somebody fucks up once they probably won’t do it again, and also knowing that all the people in your raid want to be there and progress. Not to mention raiding without being stressed is fucking fun.
We got Starcaller down, cleared Trial of the Champion in 10-man heroic mode, and our future goals are Yogg+0 and [item]A Tribute to Insanity[/item].
As a side note…I’ve upgraded some items, and I just don’t get it. The trinkets are itemized terribly: [item]Talisman of Volatile Power[/item] compared to [item]Flare of the Heavens[/item] or even [item]Dying Curse[/item]. It has a higher item level, but it provides less of an upgrade than a trinket 45 item levels lower?
So in conclusion…I keep upgrading gear, but I end up having the same spell power and losing haste. I like haste. Lots of haste. Yummy pretty awesome haste. Haste haste haste.
Also, I (or actually we)’ll try and start a series of guides for the Ulduar hard modes, Algalon and TotC hardmodes. Stay tuned.
post-blizzcon reaction

So blizzcon’s almost over – you obviously have all heard the exciting news. A couple of things to consider, especially from the perspective of a warlock:
All in all, blizzcon raised almost as many new questions as it answered. I’m looking forward to the new guild leveling mechanics, to worgens and to flying around in the old world(speaking of that, I’ll have a guide for getting a cool mount coming up soon).
Bring on the cataclysm!!!
3.2 raiding changes – a closer look
by perhaps on Jul.30, 2009, under Uncategorized
For those of you that might be unaware of it, patch 3.2 (who will be out either this week, or the next) brings some (un)expected changes as far as raiding is concerned.
First of all, if we were to classify loot by item level, we would notice that the drops from normal mode 25-man are the same item level as the ones from 10 man hard mode. In a guild like mine, we have a group that’s cleared all the 10 man hard modes for example, and are currently working on Algalon. However, we have problems with the 25 man hard modes, due to group setup, attention and/or skill issues.
Second of all, due to obvious logistical reasons (managing 9 other people + backups is easier than managing 24 other people + backups) and to the fact that the 10 man hard modes have a more relaxed tuning, it is arguably easier to progress through 10 man hard modes than through 25 hard modes. Also, finding 24 other very good people is not as easy as finding 9 others.
Because of that, my suspicion(which remains to be confirmed) is that Blizzard, in their push to make WoW as casual-friendly as possible, are trying to once again lower the raiding group, from 40 to 25 and now to 10.
Also, I predict a large number of mini-guilds appearing after the patch. Since, after all, if your guild is struggling to do 25-man hard modes due to bad players, why not remove the problem altogether by making a 10 man with your friends?
Gold sellers, and what a pizza can buy you.
by perhaps on Jul.30, 2009, under random
In the current times, where you have gold sellers spamming your chat window(s) as soon as you log on, trying to bypass all of your 10 spam filtering addons, some site admins have gone for a different approach. For example, a site where you can buy wow accounts or sell wow accounts is buying advertisement posts in some of the blogs going around.
As such – if you do plan on selling your account (even though it’s against the TOA, and the person buying it will be a brainless keyboard turner and make me rage), check that website out.
And thanks for the pizza
