Veteran wow players have realised, by now, the fact that for some reason, Blizzard gets their panties in a bunch whenever the arenatards bitch about class balance.

To calm them down, they will go to great lengths, while, at the same time, managing to

- fix a tiny imbalance while ignoring a major one(any nerf/change to class balance while ignoring death knights in season 5 LOL)

and

- fuck over the pve viability of certain specs.

In this particular case, the things I am talking about are Conflagrate and Fel Synergy

They were part of the magical propaganda the Blizzard devs had come up with, to silence the masses. The mighty changes that were going to magically make all warlock specs competitive in pve, instead of making us having to push more buttons and watch more cooldowns, to do the same damage as any other facerolling class played right.

However, what they didn’t predict(which is a bit lame, since any warlock capable of reasoning could have told them) is that you can’t make a spec viable by buffing ONE spell. And if you try, you shouldn’t really pick an instant cast one, since it will start a synchronized chorus of cries from each and every other class. Both when pve, and pvp are concerned. A 20k 1.5 second(with the immolate cast) crit pre-resilience is retarded, and the nerf was justified.

That put the spec low on the damage meters again. And to top it all off, they felt the need to nerf the pet healing as well. In the original incarnation of the talent, 30% of our damage would equate to constant dots on the pet, which would be quite overpowered in arenas. However, halving that healing in pve means that we went from “wow, after spending all these talent points on buffing my pet, it finally stays alive enough to help me!” to “fuck, same shit different patch”. In one single week.

Deep destro feels just as retarded. A talented nuke that you can’t spam is, by design, a gimmick spell. I don’t see mages having a cooldown on Frostfire Bolt. And, while having a lot of spells that you can spam and that are supposed to do shitloads of damage…I find myself critting for the same amount i was at level 70. Which is something that I can’t really understand, since I currently have 50% more spell power while raid buffed. But I remember hitting 10k crits then, and I’m hitting them now as well. Which, considering I’ve gained 10 more levels, 1000 spell power and bought a new expansion, makes me go wtf.

But I guess even Blizzard has designers that stand in fires. Which would explain the difference between, let’s say, an encounter where you get to fight a transformer robot and all its parts, and another one which uses the same bugged mechanic of “use a special ability on a random raid member, and forget to cancel swing timers during that time”.
